Found The Cider House Rules on clearance, as well as War of hte Worlds, also on clearance, Lost in the Funhouse by Barth and Portuguese Irregular Verbs, both on clearance, Borges' Other Inquisitions, which wasn't, but promises to be incredible, Celine's London Bridge, and a newbie to my collection, Frederick Exley, Last Notes from Home.
Stopped by HEB for 1. Tofu 2. Foot shower scrubber 3. Toiled brush and 4. some beers, came home with #'s 1,2, and 4, along with clearance paper towels, clearance acai berry juices (four priced at 48, got them for 12), a coffee grinder, and some other odds and ends.
Valentine's Day, went to eat with parents, brother, sister-in-law before checking out the Okay Mountain show at Texas State. Then, went to Half Price Books San Marcos, and found a whole hell of a lot. 22 Books.
Went to Spec's on this rainy day after my training with Barbara Baird for Adult Education Strategies.
Hit the Half Price during this still rainy day to see about some specials. Found some specials, and got 20% off for the Book Lover's discount week. I bought: Lost in the Funhouse by John Barth, Hopscotch by Julio Cortázar, A Tree Within by Octavio Paz, The Age of Wire and String by Ben Marcus, Mythologies of the Heart by Gerard Malanga, and Adverbs: A Novel by Daniel Handler.
Bought a whole load of crap at MT supermarket. I'll be eating for weeks.
Had dinner at Praveen's with his mother and sister. They cooked for us to celebrate his scholarship to DePaul. We then went for a pint at Deep Eddy's Cabaret, where I bought one pitcher of cold beer...
Ran over to Teacher Heaven to laminate my bingo cards for class.
